Joining ESOC
It is possible to join ESOC via the British Orienteering website, but this is not recommended, because the online mechanism will overcharge you. The easiest way to join ESOC is by contacting the club directly. Please print and fill in the ESOC membership application form. ( .pdf or .doc ) Send your completed form, with a cheque for the appropriate amount (see below), made payable to “ESOC”, to the ESOC Membership Secretary:

ESOC Membership fees for 2012
The ESOC membership fees for 2012 were agreed at the 2010 Annual General Meeting, and are as follows:
Membership Category
£8.00 - Senior (born in 1991 or earlier)
£3.00 - Junior / student (born in 1992 or later, or a full-time student of any age)
£12.00 - Family (Up to 2 adults and any family member born in 1988 or later and living at the same address)
If you join ESOC now, the above membership fee covers you until the end of 2012.
If you are a newcomer to orienteering, your ESOC membership fee entitles you to free membership of the Scottish Orienteering Association (SOA) until 31 December 2012. You will receive the SOA magazine, SCORE, plus ESOC’s newsletter, Capital-O, both of which are published every 2 months (in alternate months) and include fixture lists, general information and articles about orienteering.
You are also entitled to free Local Membership of British Orienteering (the national governing body of orienteering in the UK), for the same period. This gives you the following benefits:
- Mailings from British Orienteering
- Eligibility to compete in orienteering events throughout the UK (except the British Championships)
- Discount of £2 on the senior entry fee for Regional and some Local orienteering events within Scotland (this excludes higher level events - the Jan Kjellström Festival of Orienteering (the JK) and National events - even if they are in Scotland)
- Insurance cover (liability to 3rd parties) at events registered with British Orienteering
- Discounts from national companies through the member benefit scheme
- Papers and a vote at the British Orienteering Annual General Meeting
