Castlelaw Hill, 17th Apr 10
Nearest town:
Penicuik
Directions:
Just off the A702 approximately 3 miles south of the city of Edinburgh bypass (leave bypass at Lothianburn junction). Continue southwards on A702 past Hillend ski slope, past Boghall and through Easter Howgate. The turnoff towards Castlelaw (on the right if travelling southwards) is just after a series of bad bends in the road. There is a brown sign at the turnoff to Castlelaw Hill Fort. (If you miss the turnoff you can head down the hill to the Flotterstone Inn and turn round and come back from there.) The turnoff to Castlelaw is on to a single track road up a fairly steep hill. The car park is at the end of the road.
