New to Orienteering?
Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport which involves navigating around a course using a detailed map and sometimes a compass.
The aim is to navigate between a set of control points and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time.
It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can go at your own pace.

East Lothian Orienteers ‘Wonderful Weekend’Scottish Night Champs Balgone and SOUL2 in Musselburgh

East Lothian Orienteers ‘Wonderful Weekend’ took place over Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd February with a ‘Come and Try It’ event at Balgone Estate south of North Berwick on the Saturday afternoon followed later by the Scottish Orienteering Night Championships in the early evening. And on Sunday it was the 2nd Scottish Orienteering League fixture of 2025 around the east side of Musselburgh incorporating, for the first time, an area of newish housing in Pinkie. The event centre was in Musselburgh Sports Centre. It was a bright and dry day.
Edinburgh Big Weekend 202524th-26th January 2025

It was almost back to usual for Edinburgh University Orienteering Club’s Big Weekend after the City Centre embargo for WOC 2024. Unfortunately on Friday Storm Eowyn brought high winds which rated a rare red weather warning so the much anticipated return of Fight with the Night at King’s Building had to be postponed.
ESOC Burns Supper Social - January 2025

The annual ESOC Burns Supper took place in and around the gentrified area of Morningside this year on a pleasant Tuesday evening. It was dry, cool but still which was very welcome after the previous weeks storm Eowyn. There was evidence a plenty on the local streets of the storms presence; many branches and twigs on the pavements, the odd tree lying down and many a property fence having taken a tumble if you had chance to nosy into people’s gardens. However, club members were really in attendance to cast their glances at the local postbox population rather than gardens.
Hair of the Dog social - 2025

The annual Hair of the Dog event saw an excellent turnout of ESOC members as the club moved into its 60th anniversary year in the Inch Park. It was very pleasing to see both newer members and club members of many years all in attendance.
Glasgow Parks Championships 2024Sunday 1 December

ESOC competitors enjoyed the 25th Glasgow Parks Championships.
