August Social 2021
Monday 30 August
Hanne Robertson (ESOC Social Co-ordinator) reports:
“On 30th August we held our first face-to-face Social since, I think, the ten pin bowling in February 2020!
We were too late this year for an ESOC Skyline run but we wanted to get out into the Pentlands for our first meet up and 41 sign ups showed that this was a popular choice.
Alison Cunningham planned three routes from The Steading on Biggar Road. Short (3.7km with 150m climb), Medium (6km, 330m climb) and Long (10km, 390m climb), the longest of which took in the summits of Capelaw, Allermuir and Caerketton. It was a lovely dry evening with great views over the city and beyond. Afterwards we had a chance to catch up properly with a meal in The Steading who looked after us very well.
Many thanks to Alison for volunteering to plan the evening, to Jayne for Covid guidance, Walter for printing the maps and the long route runners for looking after Calum.”
