Scottish Championships 2017

East Lothian, 20/21 May

This year’s Scottish Orienteering Championships were close to home. ESOC, along with TAY, presented the Individual event at Gullane, Archerfield & Yellowcraig, with the Relay at Binning Wood the next day. Many ESOC members were busy helping, but still had some excellent runs, with five trophy winners at the Individual event and three podium places at the Relay.

  

SOUL 5, 2017

Tranent, Friday 19 May

East Lothian Orienteers organised the fifth event in the 2017 Scottish Orienteering Urban League, as a prelude to the Scottish Championships weekend. There was a huge ESOC entry, and some great results.

  

SOL 4, 2017

Glen Nant, 14 May

The fourth event in this year’s Scottish Orienteering League was presented by EckO on a new map, and plenty of ESOC members enjoyed the terrain.

  

SOUL 4, 2017

Dunstaffnage & Dunbeg, Saturday 13 May

There was a fair turnout of ESOC competitors for the fourth event in the 2017 Scottish Orienteering Urban League, with several first places. 

  

British Orienteering Championships 2017

Southern Lake District, 6-7 May

This year’s British Long and Relay Championships were nearer to home than in the last couple of years, and a sizeable contingent of ESOC members competed, in glorious weather that showed the Lake District at its best.

Drumlanrig Woods, 23 April

There was a good ESOC turnout for the third event in this year’s Scottish Orienteering League, on a glorious spring day.

  

JK 2017

SE England, 14-17 April

The Jan Kjellström Festival of Orienteering took place in several locations in south east England: London, the South Downs National Park, the Sussex High Weald and Ashdown Forest. 25 ESOC members competed in the individual events.

  

Double Dukes weekend

South Achray/Trossachs, 1/2 April

ESOC turned out in force for Forth Valley Orienteers’ double-header weekend, featuring events on both sides of the Dukes Pass, including the second Scottish Orienteering League event of 2017.

  

SoSOL4, 2017

Eildon Hills, 26 March

Roxburgh Reivers presented the fourth South of Scotland Orienteering League event of this year’s series, on a warm spring day. There was a good ESOC attendance, with some great results.

  

Midlands Championships Weekend 2017

Warwickshire, 25/26 March

A few ESOC members travelled south for two contrasting events at the Warwickshire Orienteering Weekend organised by Octavian Droobers, and had some great results.

Cathkin Braes Country Park, 19 March

The third South of Scotland Orienteering League event of the year was organised by St Andrews Orienteering Club (Glasgow), and saw plenty of good results from ESOC.
