A wonderful weekend of urban orienteering in the Scottish Borders
Dechmont Law, 4 June
The fourth event in this year’s South of Scotland Orienteering League was presented by Interløpers, and saw some great results from ESOC competitors.
Callendar Park, Falkirk, 2 June
It was warm and sunny for the 2023 Scottish Schools’ Orienteering Festival, and ESOC juniors had a great time, with several podium places.
Creag Mhic Chailein/Inverawe 27/28 May
The West Area clubs organised the 2023 Scottish Orienteering Championships, which were held in Argyll. There were 3 Scottish champions from ESOC, plus other podium places at both Individual and Relay events.
Northern Ireland, 6/7 May
Just four ESOC members travelled to the British Sprint and Middle Distance Championships this year, and enjoyed three contrasting races in varied terrain.
Selkirk/Peebles, 30 April/1 May
The 2023 MTBO British Long and Middle Championships took place in the Scottish Borders.
Whitekirk Hill, 30 April
East Lothian Orienteers organised the third event of this year’s South of Scotland Orienteering League, on a brand new map, and there were some good results from ESOC competitors.
Dunalastair East, 23 April
Tayside Orienteers organised the third event of the 2023 Scottish Orienteering League, in tough Perthshire terrain.
South Lakes, 7-10 April
The 2023 Jan Kjellström Festival of Orienteering took place in the southern Lake District, with great terrain, and beautiful weather most of the time.
Kirkintilloch, 2 April
ESOC had 2 class winners and lots of medallists at the Scottish Sprint Championships, which was organised by Clydeside Orienteers. It was also the fifth event in this year’s Scottish Orienteering Urban League.
Chilterns, 25-26 March
Once again, the British Championships weekend was in the south of England, and just a few ESOC competitors made the long journey.
