The LAMM is an annual event, billed as “The Connoisseur’s Mountain Marathon”, and is a two day competition for pairs, with an overnight campsite. This year it was in the hills around Glen Fyne, including several Munros. Saturday’s weather was sunny, and Sunday was grey and drizzly.
Congratulations to Sarah O’Neil, who with Andrew Llewellyn won the C class outright. They had a 5 minute lead after Saturday and extended this to 12 minutes on Sunday, a particularly impressive performance as neither had done a mountain marathon before.
Other ESOC members who were competing were Raphael Bleakley (32nd in C class, with Steve Crawford) and Paul Hornsey (42nd in B class, with Jayden Thrush).
Apologies if I’ve missed anyone - if so, please let me know!
Full details from the event, with results, comments and Routegadget, are available on the LAMM website.
