Explanation of event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun App.

Directions / Parking

The event is based near Inch House, in Inch Park in south Edinburgh, adjacent to the Cameron Toll shopping centre. Come by bus or bike if you can.

Car parking at Cameron Toll. (Note, no parking in Inch Park) Take the south east exit from Cameron Toll car park (near the southern door into the shopping centre), go up the little ramp between railings and follow the path to the left past the Inch Community Sports Club and round towards Inch House.
Toilets in the shopping centre are open till 19.00.

Course Information

There will be a long (5km) and a short (3km) option although these are most likely to be straight line distances so expect to run further than that.

Because of the road crossings ALL under 16s must be accompanied at all times by an adult when running. Due to the informality of the event the adult can also be competitive (see Entries section).

Entry Details

Pre-Entry strongly advised: Entries open on RaceSignUp at 10am on Wednesday 19th April and close at 8pm on Tuesday 25th April.

We'll print some extra maps so if you miss this deadline send us an email email hidden; JavaScript is required to ask about a late entry. Entry on the evening of the event may still be possible but this is subject to spare maps being available, payment by cash or bank transfer.

Remember all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Either enter separately but run together or order an extra shadowers map for £1 if only the Junior is entered.

Fees: Senior £4, Junior (under 21)/Student £2. Shadowers map £1

Registration and Start times

Registration and Start will be close to each other and within sight of the pin given on the google map.

Registration will open shortly before the first start time at 6.30pm. Pre-entered competitors can head straight to the start.

START PERIOD: 6.30pm - 7.30pm.

COURSE CLOSURE: Courses will close at 8.30pm. If you are unsure about how long you will take to go around your course please come and start early. Sunset time is 8.41pm but it could still be a little gloomy for map reading at 8.30pm if the weather is overcast.
