Important Event Information

Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.

Medical Conditions: If you, or anyone in your group (including juniors), have a medical condition that first aiders or health professionals should know about in the event of accident or illness during the course of the event please print off the Medical Form, fully complete it, bring it to the event in a sealed envelope with your name on the front and leave at Registration. You are welcome to collect it after your run but if you don't, it will be destroyed immediately after the event.

Covid: Please don’t come to the event if you have Covid or symptoms of Covid. Please also try to respect other people's personal space at all times

First Aid: Unless otherwise stated, first aid will be administered by a qualified club first aider using a basic first aid kit available at Registration/Download.. You are welcome to bring your own first aid kit and administer as necessary.

There is also a Minor Injuries clinic (for children 12 years old and over and adults) at the Western General Hospital Crewe Road South, EH4 2XU

Depending on where you live you may prefer to attend A & E or the minor injury unit local to your home. Note that current advice is to ring 111 before attending A&E if the situation is not life threatening.

Public Liability Insurance: Please note that all participants will be covered by Public Liability insurance provided by British Orienteering's insurance policy.

To become a member of an orienteering club, such as ESOC, which includes membership of British Orienteering and/or Scottish Orienteering visit our website www.esoc.org.uk or ask at Registration. There are many benefits of being a member of an orienteering club and one of these is lower entry fees at most events.

By taking part in our events you agree to the following:

  • Registration information will be recorded on computer.
  • Photographs and/or names may appear on our website or in the media. We will seek permissions where this involves young persons.
  • Competitors are responsible for their own personal safety and for assessing their own abilities to complete the course.
  • Events results will be published on the Internet and sent to British Orienteering
