British Schools Orienteering Championships 2009Druridge Bay - 22 November
Four ESOC juniors travelled south to compete in the 2009 British Schools Championships.
The annual British Schools Orienteering Championships event is usually held much further south, but this year it was comparatively accessible, on the Northumberland coast near Amble. Druridge Bay is a Country Park with beach and sand dunes, plus a large freshwater lake surrounded by woods and meadows. Eilidh Nolan, Jack Conway, Adam Hunter and Craig Nolan represented Currie High School, and did very well in large classes including some of the best juniors in Britain.
In the Year 12 Girls class, Eilidh came 8th
In the Year 10 Boys class, Craig came 5th, Adam was 10th and Jack was 19th. Their team was 2nd in the class.
