Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

East of Scotland Championships - 25 October 2009

There was a good turnout of ESOC members for the ESOA Championships at West Lomond Hill, with plenty of trophy winners.

This event was organised by Kingdom of Fife Orienteers. West Lomond Hill is an open hilly area, with tussock, heather and many marshes giving variable runnability. The weather was very windy with some showers, and the exposed terrain gave little shelter, but most seemed to enjoy their courses nonetheless. Due to the very windy conditions, the prizegiving was postponed, and most people departed promptly.

ESOC trophy winners were Rona Lindsay (W16), Helena Nolan (W40), Margaret Dalgleish (W55), Janet Clark (W65), Craig Nolan (M14), Andrew Lindsay (M16), Tyler Morrison (M18), Tom Ryan (M20), Crawford Lindsay (M50), Les Dalgleish (M55), Alistair Lessells (M60), Jim Clark (M70) and Bill Gauld (M75). Congratulations to them all!
Apologies to Clive Masson, who was included on the original list as the M40 winner. On the Brown course, a lot of people ran up, and this caused some complications in deciding who should get which trophy. This has now been resolved - the full list of winners, along with full results, is on the ESOA website.
