Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

ESOA Championships 2013 & SoSOL2Duns Wood, 17 November

There was a good turnout from ESOC for the East of Scotland Championships, with a fine haul of trophies. This was also the 2nd event in the South of Scotland Orienteering League for 2013/14.

This year’s East of Scotland Championships and SoSOL2 was organised by East Lothian Orienteers. Duns Wood is in Berwickshire, SE of the Lammermuir Hills, and the terrain was quite varied, often rather rough (but not as bad as advertised). There were some areas of beautiful beech forest with spectacular autumn colour. The weather was sunny at first, clouding over later, and became quite chilly by the time of the prizegiving.

ESOC members in the top half of the results were:
Brown (17 competitors) – Claire Ward 2nd, Craig Nolan 6th
Blue (32) – Mike Stewart 4th, Heather Thomson 6th
Green (32) – Alastair Lessells 2nd, Helena Nolan 3rd, Roger Scrutton 4th, Margaret Dalgleish 11th, Sally Lindsay 12th, Judy Bell 15th, Sue Cook 16th
Short Green (11) – Fiona Findlay 2nd, Anne Stevenson 4th, Janet Clark 5th, Katy Lessells 6th
Lime (6) – Ben Brown 3rd
Orange (7) – Rachel Brown 1st
White (8) – Adam Clark 2nd

Congratulations to all the ESOC trophy winners in the East of Scotland Championships:
