ESOA Championships 2019 & SoSOL 4Loch Ordie, 17 November
The East of Scotland Championships was held in conjunction with the fourth event in the 2019 South of Scotland Orienteering League, organised by TAY. There was a good turnout from ESOC, including 10 trophy winners.
Loch Ordie is a few miles north of Dunkeld, and although some remembered previous events in the area, this event used the southern part of the map, which was new to everyone. The terrain is open moorland, and is quite hilly, with plenty of crags, parallel ridges and marshes, with heather on higher ground. The weather was fine, though quite cold. There was mist at lower levels to start with, but sun higher up, with some lovely views along the Tay valley.
