Hair of the Dog Social - 2011

Details of the Hair of the Dog, Club social for January 2011, updated 24th December.

Hair of the Dog – Sunday 2nd Jan 2011

This will be a festive run in Cammo Woods followed by the Social in St Ninians church Hall in Corstorphine.
All members welcome to come to the first event of 2011.

The Orienteering part of the day will be planned by Euan Mackenzie and will, no doubt, entertain and challenge. It will begin at 11am at the main entrance to Cammo, on Cammo Road (off Queensferry Road). Bring an SI card if you have one. Dress appropriately for the weather on the day and, Euan says, anybody running in a funny hat will get a bonus score on the course (it may even be a deciding factor).

The Social part of the day will follow on at St Ninian’s Church Hall in Corstorphine. St Ninian’s Church is on the north side of St John’s Road (the main road through Corstorphine) about half-way between Clermiston Road North and Drum Brae. Access to the hall is from St Ninian’s Road only. We have access to the hall from 12.30pm. At present St Ninian’s Road behind the church is very icy and there is no access into the church car park. We suggest parking on neighbouring roads or on St John’s Road - though access to the hall is only from St Ninian’s Road.

Soup, tea and coffee will be provided at the church hall and, as usual, we would appreciate it if everyone could bring something savoury or sweet to share and, if you wish, something to drink. We will play all the usual games, including the legendary teddy bear races (will anyone take the title from the Lindsays this year?). Any further offers of games and challenges will be welcomed - why not let me know in advance?

If you haven’t been to an ESOC Hair of the Dog yet, why not make this the year you do? It’s a great way to kickstart the year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
