November Social 2015Monday 9 November
Wild weather for the brave ESOC members who turned out for the November social along the Water of Leith.
There is nothing like a run on a wild night and for the three of us (Eleanor, Ian and myself) that joined Martin at the Riccarton Inn for a run along the Water of Leith we were disappointed that so few had risen to the challenge!
As we headed East along the Dell path, the wind was behind us and the warm, relatively dry evening was very pleasant; but then we turned and headed into the wind and the fun and challenge began! This is running at its most exciting and rewarding and I love it! Martin and I ran 7.5km and Eleanor and Ian about 5km and then we were joined by Terry, Robert and Jackie for excellent food and a drink at the Riccarton Inn.
I can only assume that the weather had put many people off coming but for me this was the highlight - there’s nothing like a bit of ‘fresh’ air after a 10 hour day at work!
