Scottish Score Championships 2018Elibank, 25 November

There was a good turnout from ESOC, and plenty of trophies, at this year’s Scottish Score Championships, organised by Roxburgh Reivers.

The 2018 Scottish Score Championships event was at Elibank, in the Tweed Valley near Walkerburn village. ESOC’s Ewart Scott was the controller. Parking was along forest tracks, and there was a short uphill walk to the start. The terrain here is mature coniferous and beech forest on a steep hillside with some complex gullies and varied rock features, and there was a lot of bracken. Controls were scattered throughout the area, and there was a prize of a bottle of champagne for any senior competitor who cleared the course.
Unfortunately it was a very dull, damp day, with showers from time to time.

There were time limits of 70 minutes for M20-35 and W21, 40 minutes for M/W14 and below, and 60 minutes for everyone else.

Congratulations to the ESOC trophy winners:
Joseph Lawlor (M14)
Richard Purkis (M21) – Richard also won one of the bottles of champagne.
Jonathan Ellis (M35)
Megan Brown (W10)
Maja Robertson (W12)
Rachel Brown (W16)
Kerry Wood (W18)
Helena Nolan (W50)
Maggie Scrugham (W60)
Margaret Dalgleish (W65)

Well done too to Calum Robertson, who won the Orange course.
