Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

SOL6 - Glen Dye, 25 September 2011

Another Scottish Orienteering League event on Deeside – this one was organised by GRAMP, and had a good ESOC attendance.

Glen Dye is near Banchory, and was remembered by many from the Scottish Championships in 2006, as well as the final day of the 2005 Scottish 6 Day event. The assembly area and start this time were at the south edge of the forest, on the Cairn O’Mount road. The forest is mostly Scots pine, very open and runnable, with some complex moraine features in places. The weather was breezy and remained dry.

ESOC members in the top half of the results were:
Brown (24 competitors) – Andrew Lindsay 3rd, Helen Bridle 4th, Craig Nolan 10th
Blue (49) – Rona Lindsay 8th, Roger Garnett 10th, Crawford Lindsay 18th
Short Blue (30) – Alison Cunningham 2nd
Green (51) – Mary Williams 6th, Janice Nisbet 10th, Tom Mallows 15th
Short Green (29) – Eleanor Pyrah 6th, Jim Clark 8th, Norma Coutts 10th, Janet Clark 14th

Full results and further details including Routegadget are available on the GRAMP website.
