Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

SoSOL 4 - 2012Binning Wood, 25 November

The 4th event in this season’s South of Scotland Orienteering League was organised by East Lothian Orienteers, at Binning Wood, near Dunbar, and had plenty of good ESOC results.

Binning Wood is a fairly flat area of mixed woodland with many rhododendron thickets. It was originally planted in the 18th century, and was formerly part of Tyninghame Estate. It has a complicated system of tracks and rides crossing at various angles, and several large circular grassy clearings with many paths converging on them.

ESOC members in the top half of the results were:
Blue (36 competitors) – Ray Ward 1st, Mehmet Karatay 2nd, Peter O’Hara 3rd, Heather Thomson 5th, Gemma Karatay 7th, Keith Brown 9th, Roger Scrutton 17th
Green (31) – Alastair Lessells 4th, Maggie Scrugham 9th, Janice Nisbet 10th, Neil Williams 11th, Margaret Dalgleish 16th
Orange (13) – Ben Brown 4th

Full results are available on the ELO website.
