SoSOL5, 2017Cademuir Hill, 17 September
The fifth event in the 2017 South of Scotland Orienteering League was organised by ESOC, and there was a good turnout both to help and to compete, with some great results.
Cademuir Hill is just outside Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, and offers fine views of the surrounding area. The terrain is steep grassy moorland on the north and west side of the hill, with forest on the east side. The start was at the NE end of the hill, and courses ran along the hill with controls in both terrain types.
ESOC members in the top half of the results were:
Brown (16 competitors) – Jim Martin 4th
Blue (17) – Alison Cunningham 6th, Heather Thomson 9th
Green (30) – Peter O’Hara 3rd, Rachel Brown 4th, Tim Westmoreland 8th, Alastair Lessells 10th, Maggie Scrugham 15th
Short Green (16) – Mary Williams 1st, Leonne Hutchinson 2nd, Anne Stevenson 4th, Fiona Findlay 7th
Orange (12) – Maja Robertson 3rd
Yellow (9) – Calum Robertson 3rd, Megan Brown 5th
