STAG Spring Score 2013Greenhead Moss, 24 March

A few ESOC regulars competed at STAG’s Spring Score event, in very wintry conditions.

It was colder at this “Spring” event than the Winter one in January! The weather was cold and windy, with snow underfoot over most of the area.
Greenhead Moss is a Community Nature Park on the east side of Wishaw, in Lanarkshire. The terrain includes meadows, a large pond, and woodlands with varying runnability. There’s a good path network, but it was mostly quite rough and boggy, with some brambles too.

There was a 60 minute time limit and 28 controls. Bonus points were awarded (10 points per 6 seconds) to anyone who visited all 28 controls within the time limit, and penalty points to anyone who was late back.

ESOC results were:
4th – Heather Thomson (10,500 points)
19th – Les Dalgleish (6,600)
21st – Fiona Findlay (6,300)
24th – Margaret Dalgleish (6,100)
26th – Robert Findlay (5,000)

See the results page on the STAG website for further details and full results.

This was the second in a series of 4 score events – the next is the Summer Score, on 19 August, at Palacerigg Country Park, Cumbernauld.
