Wednesday 22 September
This was a social with a difference: an ESOC run with a choice of urban courses on a sprint orienteering map around Causewayside area, followed by refreshments and a chance to browse at Alpkit, a new outdoor equipment store at 56, Causewayside. The Social was hosted by ESOC member (and store manager) Matt Willkins. There was a great turnout.
"Huge thanks to Matt and the super friendly Alpkit team for hosting us on Wednesday evening. Martin Quirke had planned excellent long and short courses which started & finished at the store at Causewayside, where cheese, wine, soft drinks & beer were provided afterwards. Contributions were made to the Alpkit Continuum Project (they recycle outer layers, insulation layers, mid layers, base layer tops, and wetsuits to very worthwhile charities all year round and would welcome donations any time), and there was a raffle with many super prizes. Thanks too to Janet and Jayne for helping the smooth running of the night.”
