Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

SOUL 2, 2021

Girvan, 25 September

SOUL 2 took place in Girvan, on the Ayrshire coast. The start was in Stair Park, a hummocky grassy area of former dunes, and courses gave an interesting tour of the town. They looped and zig-zagged through a variety of urban terrain, with some surprisingly steep small hills. Most courses visited the harbour area, and longer courses had a few controls in a complex housing estate at the south end of the town. The weather was breezy but warm, with some sunny intervals.

There was a low attendance at this event, which was a pity, though there were unfortunate clashes with other weekend events.

ESOC results:
  M Supervet (7 competitors) – David Robertson 5th
  W Vet (4) – Hanne Robertson 2nd
  W Supervet (11) – Alison Cunningham 1st
  M Ultravet (7) – Crawford Lindsay 2nd, Roger Scrutton 3rd
  W Ultravet (7) – Sally Lindsay 5th, Anne Thom 6th
  M Young Junior (1) – Calum Robertson 1st

Full results from the event, plus Routegadget and other details, are available in the Girvan event item on the STAG website.
