SSOF 2010

Palacerigg Country Park - 4 June

More than 350 schoolchildren travelled from all over Scotland to the annual Scottish Schools event, with 9 ESOC juniors among them, and some senior ESOC members helping with the event too.  There are separate classes for boys and girls, based on academic year, with entrants from P5 upwards.  In each class, the top 3 results for the same school are totalled to give the team score.  It was a lovely sunny day, and everyone had a great time.

ESOC juniors did well in several classes:
  P7 boys – Toby Huthwaite 10th (non-competitive)
  S2 boys – Gavin Williams 3rd, Jamie Cunningham 9th
Their team (Stewart’s Melville College) won this class.
                Barney Huthwaite 6th (non-competitive)
  S3 boys – Craig Nolan 2nd, Jack Conway 8th, Adam Hunter 13th
Their team (Currie High School) came 2nd
  S5/6 boys – Andrew Lindsay 3rd
  S5/6 girls – Rona Lindsay 2nd, Eilidh Nolan 3rd, Imogen Beck 6th

See the Scottish Schools Orienteering Association website for full results.

Some photos from the event are now available in the ESOC Gallery.
