Junior Awards and Incentives
- Badge schemes - Scottish Orienteering and British Orienteering run award schemes for participation and performance progression. For example, juniors can earn badges for participation in 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 events put on by any club - ask for a record card at your next event.
See the Award and Incentive Schemes page on the Scottish Orienteering website for more details. - Join in Award Scheme (JAS) - An award for anyone at junior school who might enjoy and benefit from using it. It is described as a “self-guided way to encourage, capture and celebrate personal achievement” and orienteering can be used as an option. The Join in Award Scheme evolved from the Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS).
More details are available on the Join in Award Scheme website. - Duke of Edinburgh Award - Orienteering can be used as a Physical Activity, and helping with Events can be used for Volunteering for your D of E award.
