A few ESOC members competed in the London City race, which returned to its traditional venue in the heart of London.

This was the 13th London City race, organised by South London Orienteers. It took place in the historic financial district, with courses leading through the back streets, alleyways and pedestrian areas of the old London street pattern as well as the Inner and Middle Temples. The event centre was at the brand new King’s College London Students’ Union building in Aldwych.

ESOC results were:
M Ultravet (65 competitors) – Robert Findlay 60th
M Hypervet (19) – Brian Yates 16th
W Ultravet (41) – Janice Nisbet 2nd, Rhona Fraser 15th, Fiona Findlay 37th

The next day, there was a shorter urban event around the King’s Cross and Somers Town area, organised by London Orienteering Klubb.

ESOC results were:
M Ultravet (32 competitors) – Robert Findlay 28th
M Hypervet (8) – Brian Yates 7th
W Ultravet (18) – Janice Nisbet 1st
Rhona Fraser ran up on course 4 and came 59th out of 72.
