The Burns Supper

Many thanks to Katy and Alastair for a great evening on Monday with their hosting of the Burns Supper. We had a superb turnout of 39 members on a cold and blustery evening. Many enjoyed Alastair’s street run with control sites around the Murrayfield, Craigleith and Roseburn areas and it was a close result (somehow taking age into account) with Andrew Dalgleish the highest scoring lad and Rona and Mary Williams sharing the lassies prize.
Katy planned a challenging indoor Burn’s quiz which Jim won – perhaps his version of Burn’s poem –‘Ye banks and braes o’ Holyrood Park’ – will be put it into print some day!

The haggis was ‘fiddled’ into the room by Bill and the address to the haggis by Peter was brilliant! The food was delicious – the kitchen team doing a great job – the traditional haggis and neeps followed by a great selection of puddings. Many thanks to the Monday night ladies for providing all the food and at the incredible value of only £2 – a brilliant and cheap night out!
