ESOC competed in the Scottish Heats of the annual UK-wide club competition "The Compass Sport Trophy" on 23rd February at Kinnoull Hill, Perth.

Below is Club Captain Helena's report on how ESOC fared:

"We had a strong team of 55 members entered and almost all braved the weather on a very wet and windy day. With a Yellow weather warning in place, it was touch and go whether the event would go ahead but thanks to Tayside Orienteers for battling the conditions to put on a great event.

ESOC were successful in qualifying for the final near Redcar on 14th September by finishing 2nd to Interlopers and equal on points to INVOC. This is no mean feat given there were 15 clubs competing in our category.

The following orienteers were counters for the club but everyone's participation was vital; it has the effect of pushing runners, from other clubs, further down the points total."
