East Lothian Orienteers ‘Wonderful Weekend’Scottish Night Champs Balgone and SOUL2 in Musselburgh

East Lothian Orienteers ‘Wonderful Weekend’ took place over Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd February with a ‘Come and Try It’ event at Balgone Estate south of North Berwick on the Saturday afternoon followed later by the Scottish Orienteering Night Championships in the early evening. And on Sunday it was the 2nd Scottish Orienteering League fixture of 2025 around the east side of Musselburgh incorporating, for the first time, an area of newish housing in Pinkie. The event centre was in Musselburgh Sports Centre. It was a bright and dry day.

The Balgone map has two long lakes which were created for curling. South of the lakes is a wall of high crags used by sport climbers.
