ESOC at the 2022 JIRCsTyrella, 24/25 September

The victorious Scotland team at the Junior Inter-Regional Championships, in Northern Ireland, again included an ESOC junior.

Megan Brown (W14) was in the Scotland team at the Junior Inter-Regional Championships (JIRCs).
The JIRCs weekend is an annual competition between juniors from all the UK regions.

The 2022 event was at Tyrella, near Newcastle in Northern Ireland, organised by Lagan Valley Orienteers. This is a complex sand dune area, with much spiky vegetation. The individual event was on Saturday, with the relay on Sunday. Megan had a great run in the individual event, coming 4th.

Scotland came 2nd in the Individual event, and won the Relays, giving a win overall. There’s an interesting report, with some photos, on the SOA website. Results are available on the Lagan Valley Orienteers website.
