ESOC at the 2025 JIRCsLake District, 27/28 September
Scotland won the Junior Inter-Regional Championships, with 4 ESOC juniors in the team.
The Junior Inter-Regional Championships weekend is an annual competition between juniors from all the UK regions. William Atkinson (M14), Calum Robertson (M16), Emma Daley (W14) and Megan Brown (W18) were in the Scotland team for the 2025 competition, and Judy Bell is ScotJOS team manager.
The competition took place in the southern Lake District on 27/28 September. The individual event was at Torver Back Common, in deciduous woodland on slopes above Coniston Water and detailed open fell on the higher ground. The relays were in the complex sand dunes at Haverigg, on the coast further south.
Scotland had a narrow lead after the individual event. In the relays the next day, Scottish teams came 1st and 2nd in the boys’ relay, and 2nd and 3rd in the girls’ relay, therefore winning the overall competition.
