March Monday Social
Around twenty folk gathered at the Findlays’ house in Currie on Monday March 7th for a street orienteering challenge followed by refreshments. There were two courses on offer, a Long and a Short, with questions to answer at each control point and optional bonuses for spotting places that had a connection with health, beauty or fitness, each correct bonus counting for 30 seconds off your total time. There was the usual good humoured discussion afterwards about the correct answers. One suggestion that an establishment offering ‘home-cooked Indian food’ should count as promoting good health wouldn’t wash with the controller when apparently what he was looking for were places like the local medical centre and the hairdressers! The top positions, and associated chocolates, went to Martin, Andrew and Heather on the Long course, and to Margaret, Simon and Roger on the Short.
Many thanks to Robert and Fiona for providing this entertaining exercise and hot drinks and plentiful refreshments to revive us afterwards.
