Scottish Inter-Club Team Relays 2009
ESOC had 3 teams in the Scottish Inter-Club Team Relays held in Faskally Woods nr Pitlochry on Saturday 19th September 2009.
In the Scottish Inter-Club Team Relays (previously the 11-Person Relays) ESOC came 6th in the 11-Person Relay class, a very creditable performance considering the team included 6 juniors & 4 veterans and was competing against teams comprising many elite runners. There were particularly good performances from Tom Ryan (4th on Green 3), Helena Nolan (5th on Light Green 1), Andrew Lindsay (5th on Light Green 3) and Craig Nolan (7th on Orange).
In the battle for ESOC supremacy in the new 8-Person Relay, the youngsters (i.e. age 50 & under!) thrashed the ESOC oldies (55 & over) by nearly 40 minutes in a 2.5 hour race; the AfterEight trophy, presented by the Club Captain to the highest placed ESOC 8-Person team, was dispatched in a much shorter time. There were many tired legs after the event; Faskally Woods may be small but it is a tough little area at this time of the year.
See below for links to the Results and photographs in the ESOC gallery which include photos of team captains on the day Andrew Dalgleish (ESOC 11-plus) and Daniel Forth (ESOC Leander); Daniel led by example, completing his course 4th fastest, one position in front of Helena.
