Scottish Sprint Championships 2024MacRosty Park, Crieff, 1 September
ESOC had 2 class winners at the Scottish Sprint Championships, which was organised by Tayside Orienteers. It was also the sixth event in this year’s Scottish Orienteering Urban League.
The 2024 Scottish Sprint Championships was a 2-race event, with overall results based on the combined times. MacRosty Park is in the valley of the Turret Burn, on the west side of Crieff, with some steep slopes. There are many mature trees, a Victorian bandstand, children’s play areas, flower beds, and grassed areas, criss-crossed by paths, steps and bridges over the burn and an old mill lade.
The start and finish for both races was close to the parking area. Courses for the first race included local streets and also Turretbank Woods, as well as the park itself, while the second race stayed within the park. The weather was dull and cool, but remained dry.
There were 2 Scottish Champions from ESOC:
- Kirsten Tinsley – W10
- Helen Bridle – W Open
Other ESOC medallists were:
- Calum Robertson – silver, M16
- Helena Nolan – bronze, W Supervet
- Ian Pyrah – bronze, M Hypervet
- Eleanor Pyrah – silver, W Hypervet
- Anne Stevenson – bronze, W Hypervet
