Scottish Sprint Championships - Lossiemouth, 26 September 2009

Only a few ESOC members ventured north for this event, but they thought the trip was well worthwhile, and 5 of them won prizes.

Lossiemouth, on the Moray Firth, was a superb setting for this event, and the weather was glorious. The courses started from the High School, heading off across the playing fields and into a housing estate with a complex network of narrow alleyways. Then the longer courses had some legs in a disused quarry area, returning to the maze of alleyways before the finish. It was great fun - quick thinking was needed, and everyone made mistakes, so there was plenty of discussion about route choice afterwards.

ESOC prizewinners were:
M16 – Andrew Lindsay
M60 – Roger Scrutton
M65 – Ian Pyrah
W50 – Sally Lindsay
W65 – Eleanor Pyrah
Full results are available on the Moravian website
Some photos from the event are now in the ESOC Gallery.

Most stayed up north for the INVOC event on Sunday 27th, at Anagach Wood in Grantown-on-Spey. The weather wasn’t quite as good, but Anagach is a beautiful area and everyone enjoyed it.
