Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

SOL4 - Dalnamein, near Blair Atholl - 20 September 2009

This was the first Scottish Orienteering League event after the summer break, and it had a great turnout of ESOC members, many of whom had been at the Scottish Inter Club Team Relays the previous day.

STAG (St Andrew’s Orienteering Club, Glasgow) organised this event, and the terrain was a mixture of rough open moorland and coniferous woodland. The area is split by a deep gorge, with only one bridge, so the longer courses had two loops, one on either side of the river. The weather was dry and bright with some sun – ideal orienteering weather.

ESOC members in the top half of the results were:
Short Brown (45 finishers) – Andrew Dalgleish 5th
Blue (60) – Dave Kershaw 17th, Andy McLeod 18th, Helena Nolan 27th, Alastair Lessells 29th
Short Blue (49) – Alison Cunningham 4th, Janice Nisbet 12th, Chris McLeod 24th
Green (56) – Rona Lindsay 2nd, Bill Stevenson 12th, Margaret Dalgleish 15th
Short Green (20) – Janet Clark 6th
Light Green (39) – Tyler Morrison 1st, Craig Nolan 5th, Gavin Williams 17th, Keith Brown 19th, Jamie Cunningham 20th
Orange (25) – Judith Bell 10th
White (27) – Rachel Brown 4th, Ben Brown 8th
