Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

SoSOL 4, 2022Devilla Forest, 13 November

This event was organised by Kingdom of Fife Orienteers, and saw a reasonable turnout from ESOC.

Devilla Forest is east of Kincardine, on the north side of the Forth. The Start and Finish were in the eastern part of the forest, and the longer courses had some overlap with the area used by the recent CompassSport Cup Final. The terrain was described in the final details as a tough, hard Scots pine forest with dense undergrowth and a network of wide forest tracks and smaller paths around some lochs. The weather was sunny and mild - a beautiful day.

ESOC members in the top half of the results for their course were:
Blue (29 competitors) – Keith Brown 14th
Green (36) – James Ball 3rd, Fran Daley 6th, Heidi Ross 10th, Roger Scrutton 16th, Finlay Ross 18th
Short Green (24) – Margaret Dalgleish 3rd
Light Green (10) – Aki Uutela 1st, Megan Brown 2nd, Tom Uutela 5th
Orange (21) – Robert Simmers 3rd
Yellow (13) – Errol Shave 6th
