Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

SoSOL 5, 2023Cademuir, 17 September

The fifth event in this year’s South of Scotland Orienteering League was organised by ESOC, and seemed to be enjoyed by all, despite less than ideal conditions.

Cademuir Hill is just outside Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, with steep grassy moorland on the north and west side of the hill, and forest on the east side. The event was based at Peebles High School, with a short walk to the start at the NE end of the hill. The courses were all on the open moorland, looping anticlockwise around the area, and mostly avoided steep climbs.
Unfortunately the weather was misty and damp.

ESOC members in the top half of the results for their course were:
Blue (19 competitors) – Luigi Lerose 4th, Keith Brown 8th, Hamish Simmers 9th
Green (32) – Calum Robertson 3rd, Finlay Ross 5th, Roger Garnett 12th, Hanne Robertson 16th
Short Green (14) – Emma Anderson 2nd, Judy Bell 4th, Mary Williams 7th
Light Green (9) – Tate Woodhouse 3rd, Robert Wylie 5th
Orange (7) – William Atkinson 3rd

Full results and comments about the event are available on the Cademuir SoSOL event page on this website.
