SoSOL11 - Drumlanrig
The final event of the 2008-2009 South of Scotland Orienteering League took place in glorious sunshine.
This event was organised by Solway Orienteers - Drumlanrig is near Thornhill, in Dumfriesshire (but it’s nearer than it sounds). Lovely weather showed it at its best – the forest there is very varied, with some beautiful bluebell glades and fine trees, as well as good views of the surrounding countryside. There were a few brambles and boggy areas, and many tracks criss-crossing the woods. Most people took advantage of the other attractions on offer, visiting the café, garden centre or even mountain-biking.
The best ESOC results were as follows:
Blue – Rona Lindsay 6th, Tyler Morrison 8th
Green – Mark Wood 1st, Bill Gauld 10th
Light Green – Robert Findlay 5th, Fiona Findlay 6th, Imogen Beck 7th
See the SoSOL page of the East of Scotland Orienteering Association website for results, and updated league table in due course.
