SOUL 9, 2024Dunblane, 3 November
There was a good turnout from ESOC, and some great results, at the penultimate event in the 2024 Scottish Orienteering Urban League, which was organised by Forth Valley Orienteers.
Dunblane is a few miles north of Stirling, and the map covers a variety of terrain including parkland, the narrow streets of the old town centre, and new housing estates with many interconnecting pathways. It’s quite hilly there. The event centre was at Braeport Community Centre, in the old part of the town, and the start was a short walk away. Courses looped around the area, and all eventually crossed the Allan Water to a few controls with some complicated route choice, then some short legs to the finish in a park by the river. The weather was dull but mild.
ESOC results in the top half:
- W Young Junior (8) – Emma Daley 3rd
- M Junior (8) – Calum Robertson 2nd
- W Vet (14) – Sarah McAdam 6th
- M Supervet (15) – Keith Brown 6th
- W Supervet (13) – Alison Harding 7th
- M Ultravet (13) – Crawford Lindsay 2nd, Martin Caldwell 3rd, Kevin Harding 4th
- W Ultravet (10) – Margaret Dalgleish 2nd=, Sally Lindsay 5th
- M Hypervet (7) – Ian Pyrah 4th
- W Hypervet (8) – Eleanor Pyrah 4th
