Sprintelope Urban Event, 29th June 2016Bonaly and Colinton areas of Edinburgh

Sprintelope is a series of summer urban events in Edinburgh and the Lothians from Interlopers (INT), East Lothian Orienteers (ELO), Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club (ESOC), and Roxburgh Reivers (RR). This relaxed and informal event is open to anyone who is a member of an orienteering club.

As part of this series, the Brown family from ESOC will be offering a street run in the Bonaly and Colinton areas of Edinburgh on Wednesday 29th June. Starts will be from 6:30 until 7pm. For an early start you are welcome to come along before 6.30pm (but not before 6pm please).

The registration and start will be in Redford Drive, close to the junction with Redford Road. You'll be able to see the registration and start from the Redford Drive/Redford Road junction. This is easily accessible from the city bypass (Dreghorn Junction) for those coming from out of the city. The Lothian Buses route 16 is handy for this event.

There will be timed start and finish using SI but only chalk controls on the courses. Remember to bring your SI along with you if you have one and a map bag if the weather is wet (maps will NOT be printed on waterproof paper). There will be a short and long course - exact lengths to be finalised. The short course will cross side streets and pass through parking areas but will not cross any main roads. The longer course will cross main roads.

Cost will be £2 for seniors and £1 for juniors.

Street parking should be fine on Redford Drive and surrounding streets.
