STAG Winter Score 2, Strathclyde Country Park
A handful of ESOC members braved the weather to compete at the second score event in STAG’s winter series.
Strathclyde Country Park is SE of Glasgow, beside the M74 near Motherwell. It’s a large area by a loch alongside the River Clyde, with a mix of mature woodland and open parkland, and a steep-sided river valley. The weather was atrocious at the start, so it was very wet underfoot, but fortunately the rain eased. Everyone had the same time limit of 60 minutes, and no-one visited all the controls – the optimum route was said to be around 14 km.
The best ESOC results were:
3rd – Andrew Dalgleish
9th – Mark Wood
Rona Lindsay was 1st woman.
See the STAG results page for results from this event.
The next event in this series is on 15 February at Allean Forest, by Pitlochry.
