2016 London City RaceSaturday 10 September
A few ESOC members travelled south for the London City race, which was on a brand new area on the south side of the Thames.
This was the 9th London City race. It took place on a completely new map of Rotherhithe, an area of former docklands now redeveloped into housing estates and parkland, making a wonderful area for urban orienteering, with complicated route choice throughout.
ESOC results were:
W Supervet (98 competitors) – Janice Nisbet 19th=
W Ultravet (45) – Maureen Brown 38th, Kirsteen Kershaw 39th
The next day, there was an urban sprint in Soho and Covent Garden, through narrow streets and alleyways in central London. Janice Nisbet came 15th in the Women’s Supervet class.
See the London City Race 2016 website for full results and further information about the weekend, including Routegadget – the maps are well worth a look.
