Scottish Night Championships - Glen Dye, 25 February 2012
A select few from ESOC travelled north for this event, and were rewarded by excellent courses on a beautiful evening.
Glen Dye is south of Banchory, on Deeside, and is a great area - open runnable pine forest with plenty of tricky contour and rock detail, and some open heathery ground with many confusing depressions. The weather was fine, and there were starry skies, as promised by the final details.
Mehmet Karatay ran course 2, Gemma Karatay course 3 and Sally Lindsay course 4. Crawford Lindsay unfortunately mispunched on course 3.
The next day, there was a colour-coded event nearby, at Bogendreip. Courses avoided the very boggy part (familiar to many from previous Scottish Championships and the 2005 6 Days), zigzagging along the hillside to the south.
On Green, Sally Lindsay came 10th; on Blue, Crawford Lindsay came 5th, Gemma Karatay 10th and Mehmet Karatay 16th.
