SOL 4, 2018Errochty Forest, 6 October
The fourth event in the 2018 Scottish Orienteering League was organised by STAG, and took place in beautiful autumn conditions.
Errochty Forest is part of Tay Forest Park, west of Blair Atholl, and lies on a steep north-facing hillside. The western area is natural woodland, mostly pine forest, with some intricate contours and plenty of rock features. In the east, the forest is more standard forestry plantation. There are now some large felled areas, but courses were planned to avoid these. It was a fine day with some autumn sunshine.
ESOC members in the top half of the results for their course were:
Short Brown (18 competitors) – Peter O’Hara 7th
Blue (35) – Ben Brown 9th, Mark Wood 12th
Short Blue (33) – Alison Cunningham 5th, Roger Garnett 6th, Kerry Wood 8th
Green (40) – Roger Scrutton 13th, Alastair Lessells 14th, Leonne Hutchinson 15th
Short Green (30) – Mary Williams 2nd, Anne Stevenson 6th, Margaret Dalgleish 11th
Orange (17) – Maja Robertson 4th
Yellow (8) – Calum Robertson 4th
This event was also the Individual event for the 2018 Junior Home International. Further details about the event, with a link to the full results including Routegadget, are on the Errochty results page of the STAG website.
