Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

SoSOL 4, 2023Dechmont Law, 4 June

The fourth event in this year’s South of Scotland Orienteering League was presented by Interløpers, and saw some great results from ESOC competitors.

Dechmont Law is on the north side of Livingston beside the M8, and the event centre was at Deans Community High School. The terrain is a mix of rough open grassland and woods (both coniferous and deciduous) around the Law, which is a small steep-sided hill with panoramic views. There’s an extensive network of paths and tracks. The weather was very sunny and warm.
ESOC’s Dave Kershaw was the Controller.

ESOC members in the top half of the results for their course were:
Blue (13 competitors) – Terry Johnstone 2nd, Katherine Kirk 7th
Green (22) – Finlay Ross 4th, Les Dalgleish 6th, Lucie Hamplova 10th
Short Green (15) – Margaret Dalgleish 4th
Light Green (9) – Tom Uutela 1st, Emma Anderson 2nd, Jamie Crawford 3rd, Alex Armitage 4th, Tate Woodhouse 5th
Orange (6) – William Atkinson 1st

Full results and comments about the event are available in this news item on the INT website.
