SoSOL 7 - 2013/14Culteuchar, 18 May
A fair number from ESOC competed at the final South of Scotland Orienteering League event this season, which was organised by Tayside Orienteers, on a fine area which lived up to expectations.
Culteuchar is near Bridge of Earn, just south of Perth. This orienteering area is open and hilly, mostly grassy and runnable, with some heather which slowed progress. The longer courses visited areas of coniferous plantation too. The weather was fine and breezy, so it was dry underfoot and everyone enjoyed the wonderful views of the Tay valley.
ESOC members in the top half of the results were:
Blue (33 competitors) - Keith Brown 4th, Jim Martin 6th, Mike Stewart 12th, Roger Garnett 16th
Green (33) – Tyler Morrison 1st, Alastair Lessells 2nd,
Short Green (13) – Anne Stevenson 3rd, Jim Clark 4th, Janet Clark 7th
Light Green (13) – Kerry Wood 6th
Orange (9) – Rachel Brown 2nd
White (5) – Megan Brown 1st
