SoSOL4 - 2009/10Elibank, 21 March
The 4th event in the current South of Scotland Orienteering League series saw some good ESOC runs.
Elibank is in the Tweed Valley near Peebles, and the event was organised by Roxburgh Reivers. The area is a plantation forest, mostly on steep hillsides (so the courses had quite a lot of ascent), with some complex gullies enlivened by a field archery course, and also some very pleasant grassy terrain along the riverside. The snow this winter had flattened much of the undergrowth, and fine weather with sunny intervals made it a very enjoyable event.
ESOC competitors in the top half of the results were:
Blue (38 competitors) – Craig Nolan 3rd, Andrew Lindsay 7th, Rona Lindsay 9th, Keith Brown 14th, Helena Nolan 16th
Green (40) – Bill Stevenson 5th, Alison Cunningham 8th, Sally Lindsay 16th, Bill Gauld 20th
Light Green (11) – Heather Thomson 2nd, Judith Bell 3rd, Anne Stevenson 5th
White (6) – Ben Brown 1st, Rachel Brown 2nd
Results are on the Roxburgh Reivers website, here.
