SoSOL5 - 2009/10Calder Wood, 9 May
There was another good ESOC turnout for this Interløpers event, in lovely spring conditions.
Calder Wood Country Park is on the SE side of Livingston, and has a mix of open grassland and wooded areas, mostly quite flat, with two rivers running through it in deep valleys. It’s generally very runnable, except on the steep slopes by the rivers, which gave a surprising amount of ascent on the longer courses. The weather was fine, with a couple of early showers and warm sunshine later - many spring flowers and new leaves on the trees made this a very enjoyable event.
ESOC competitors in the top half of the results were:
Blue (49 competitors) – Mark Wood 3rd, Dave Kershaw 7th, Clive Masson 12th, Finlay Ross 15th, Rona Lindsay 17th, Helena Nolan 20th, Alistair Armitage 24th
Green (45) – Alison Cunningham 8th, Janice Nisbet 9th, Sally Lindsay 14th, Rachel Fawthrop 15th, Gavin Williams 21st
Light Green (11) – Adam Hunter 1st
White (8) – Kerry Wood 2nd
Results are on the Interløpers website, here.
