SOUL 2, 2018Broxburn, 4 February
The prologue of this year’s ESOC Sprint-O was the second event of the 2018 Scottish Orienteering Urban League, and there were some excellent ESOC results.
Broxburn lies to the west of Edinburgh, along the A899. This was a brand new map, and the prologue race was in the eastern part of it, with mixed urban terrain including the Union Canal, housing estates of various ages, business premises on the main road, riverside paths along the Brox Burn, and some open ground. The weather was sunny and pleasant, mild for the time of year, with little wind.
ESOC members in the top half of the results were:
M Open (8 competitors) – Tyler Morrison 3rd, Ben Brown 4th
W Open (8) – Helen Bridle 2nd, Rona Lindsay 3rd
M Vet (15) – Alistair Hindle 4th
