Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club

SOUL 2, 2020Broxburn, 2 February

The second event in the 2020 Scottish Orienteering Urban League was hosted by ESOC, with plenty of members competing as well as helping, and several class winners.

Broxburn is west of Edinburgh, and lies along the A899. The event centre, with good indoor facilities, was at the Strathbrock Partnership, in the centre of the town. The Start was a short way to the north, and the courses stayed on the north side of the main road, zig-zagging through housing estates of various ages, and some open areas, with a few controls amongst business premises east of the Union Canal for the longer courses. The Finish was beside the canal, not far from the event centre.
The weather was quite wet to begin with, but improved as the day went on.
